The Hills Are Alive At The Resorts World Manila.

This is a very late post and I'm really sorry but here's one entry really worth sharing. I, along with some friends, got tickets for the October 19 show of The Sound Of Music in the seriously-breathtaking Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

The Sound Of Music was lifted off from the book authored by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, and from the musical by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The story shows how Maria Rainer, an aspiring nun, was assigned as governess over the seven children of widower Captain Georg Von Trapp and how she won their hearts. Maria did this, unintentionally, albeit, by taking the role of their mother while occasionally singing and by teaching them to sing, as well.

Playbill Genius!

I've seen the movie around thirty times already since it's one of those Sunday movie time flicks that my family usually watches so I was really excited to finally see it on a live stage. Cris Villonco (Maria Rainer, alternating with Joanna Ampil), Audie Gemora (Captain Georg Von Trapp, alternating with Ed Feist and Jon Joven), Pinky Marquez (Mother Abbess, alternating with Sheila Francisco) and Pinky Amador (Baroness Elsa Schraeder, alternating with Lynn Sherman) led the cast that Wednesday night. The production was a joy to watch! I had to stop myself from singing along so as not to "disturb" my seatmate. Ha ha.

For those who haven't seen it yet, you still have until December 11, 2011 to do so! It's a great show for the entire family! For ticket inquiries, please go to the Resorts World Manila's web site or visit TicketWorld outlets.
